tutoring at higham hall, bassenthwaite february 2018
Much of my early work was inspired by long trips to the Lake District, so I am delighted to be returning there to teach a new 3-day course at Higham Hall, Bassenthwaite in February 2018. This will be a new approach to landscape combining the impact of ink with the softness and subtlety of coloured pencil. We shall be exploring techniques for working in ink and mark making, as well as coloured pencil methods including blending, embossing and lifting out. The two media will then be integrated to build up a harmonious image. The end of winter is a perfect time, when the stark outlines of branches and twigs contrast with the soft blur of new foliage. Say goodbye to winter with some therapeutic coloured pencil work - with a twist! Suitable for all levels.
The course starts on Monday 19th February at 18.30 and finishes at 12.30 on Thursday 22nd February.
